Furniture Worth Saving

There’s something special about furniture that has already lived a life.

Perhaps it’s the craftsmanship, the beautiful grain of solid wood, or the little details that simply aren’t found in modern furniture anymore. Turned legs, elegant curves, dovetail joints and quality materials all tell a story of furniture that was built to last.

At Mantelpiece Geese, I believe those pieces deserve another chance.

Restoring furniture isn’t about covering up its past – it’s about celebrating it. Sometimes that means carefully repairing and preserving the original wood, while other times it means introducing colour and a fresh new look that helps a forgotten piece find its place in a modern home.

Built to Last

Older furniture was often made from solid wood using traditional craftsmanship. With a little care, these pieces can last for generations, making them a beautiful and practical investment for your home.

Every Piece is Unique

Unlike mass-produced furniture, every restored piece has its own character. No two are ever exactly the same, which means you have something unique and your home reflects your personality rather than what a big shop thinks you should have.

Better for the Planet

Choosing restored furniture is one of the simplest ways to reduce waste. Every piece that is restored is one less item going to landfill and one less new piece needing to be manufactured.

It’s a small but important choice that makes a real difference.

Thoughtfully Chosen

I don’t restore furniture simply because it’s old.

Every piece is chosen because something about it catches my eye — whether it’s the craftsmanship, the shape, the proportions or the little details that make it stand out.

If I wouldn’t have it in my own home, I won’t sell it – Which can be dangerous!

Made for Modern Living

Beautiful furniture should be enjoyed every day.

Each restoration I complete has durability in mind, using quality products including Fusion Mineral Paint and Dixie Belle finishes where appropriate, so every piece is ready to become part of everyday family life.

Giving Beautiful Furniture Another Lifetime

For me, restoration is about far more than furniture.

It’s about recognising quality, appreciating craftsmanship and helping beautiful pieces continue their story. It also gives me great joy.

I hope every piece that leaves me is loved for many more years to come.
